HIGH SCHOOL SUSTAINABILITY WORKSHOP
PROJECT SUMMARY
Typology: Research
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Status: Completed in 2017
AERO COLLECTIVE received the opportunity to teach a one-day introductory course to the architectural design process at a local high school. Focusing on the historical aspects of architecture, AERO taught the class about the history of pavilions as basic structures for shelter. Challenging each student to build a pavilion model after the lecture, AERO taught the participants about the immense benefits of sustainable development by requiring that these structures be built with only sustainable material. Using cardboard tubes, sheets, and rubber bands, the students created their final products and learned tons along the way.
