AERO COLLECTIVE designed this 50-unit infill apartment complex in the Westdale neighborhood of Los Angeles with the intention of creating maximum unit density while still accommodating tenants comfortably and efficiently. Due to its close proximity to new Google offices, popular grocery stores, and the E line, the 26 studios and 24 one bedroom apartments are envisioned to accommodate the neighborhood’s working professionals.

The floor plans of the units are designed to stack in order to streamline the construction process, maximizing the efficiency allowed by standardization. Even so, there are elements throughout the building’s design that allow deviation from the norm, including a recreation room and two levels of community roof decks.

Parking is provided in a subterranean level, with a mix of traditional parking and parking lifts. Due to its proximity to a major freeway, the team conducted an acoustic study of the site and implemented upgraded windows and mechanical systems to help mitigate any sound and air quality issues.
